My name is Curtis Waterman, I play the harmonica. I play with several groups from Syracuse and Rochester. Syracuse groups are Wescott Jugsuckers, Gonstermachers, Cornbred and Jane Zell. The Rochester groups are Gordon Munding duo and Gordon Munding and the Jugsliders, Fred Vine, Tabletop 3 featuring Steve West with Ross Bracco on Standup Bass.
I have been playing harmonica for over 30 years. My influences are Sunnyboy Williamson II (Rice Miller), Big Walter Horton, Little Walter, James Cotton. Once I became fluent with thier styles I began listening to Howard Levy, Carlos Del Junco, Jason Ricci, Paul DeLay and Doug Jay. I realized the harmonica was a very diverse instument. Over the years I have learned to play 5 different harmincas in the same key. This allows me to bring different textures to the songs being played. My style has been discribed as "unigue". There are various quotes of my style at www.gonstermachers.com You can hear my style at www.cornbred.com. and www.myspace.com search "Cornbred". www.utube search Curtis Waterman and you will find a college project video of me doing a song I wrote. If you need to know more you can always "google" Curtis T. Waterman and Curtis Waterman. Mostly music related info comes up, to much to write hear.
I opened this page for myself because I am for hire. I have the ability to record onto your music thru "Email". The digital age is upon us. Email me a "wave file" and I'll record my style onto your song and email it back to you. You or your sound man can master it as you like. I would be using "Pro Tools".
I'm also for hire if you need a stand in Harp player. That gig where a harp player might be what the audiance wants. A gig where your piano player can't make it but the rest of the band can, hire me. I just like playing and sharing my harp sound. Thanks...
